A family travel guide
Is New Zealand Worth It
With Kids?
We flew our kids 9,000 miles to find out, and this is everything we learned.
Why New Zealand?
Because it is genuinely unlike anywhere else. Kids who spend a week here come home different. They've seen glowworms in a cave, watched geysers erupt, ridden a gondola over a lake the color of turquoise glass, and maybe (definitely) done a luge.
The flight is long. The jet lag is real. But New Zealand is one of the most family-friendly countries in the world, safe, well-organized, outdoors-obsessed, and full of things that are genuinely spectacular for kids, not just adults.
